After showcasing it in concept form at the Bangkok Motor Show earlier this year, Chevrolet has officially revealed the Trailblazer facelift in all its glory. This full-size luxury SUV will go on sale soon in Brazil with prices ranging between R$ 159,990 and R$ 189,990 for both petrol and diesel models. Roughly translated, these account to Rs 30.40 lakh and Rs 36.20 lakh respectively.
In terms of exterior upgrades, the design is a lot neater now, with the redesigned front-end featuring interestingly detailed headlights with DRLs and twin radiator grilles. The rear-end though is more or less the same and overall, the Trailblazer continues to carry a powerful stance our on the road.
The interior is fairly new and is brimming with better quality materials. The design and layout isn’t particularly striking. However, there is no shortage of space and comfort in here for up to seven occupants. In the top-spec LTZ trim, the dashboard is dominated by an 8-inch infotainment system with MyLink tech that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In Brazil, the Trailblazer facelift will get two engine options – a 2.8-litre Duramax diesel unit that makes 200bhp of power and 500Nm of torque and a much bigger 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that develops 279bhp of power and 357Nm of torque. Both these engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Chevrolet Trailblazer will go on sale in Brazil later this month. The launch of this new model has been announced barely a few days after the brand recalled 7,968 units of the SUV in Brazil. The recall has been issued due to a problem related to the operation of the curtain airbag. All models built between April 6, 2012 and November 26, 2015 built at the Sao Jose dos Campos facility fall under the affected lot.
