Chevrolet has finally confirmed via a countdown timer on its official website that it will launch the Sail Sedan on February 1. The Sail sedan will be the first major launch for the American automaker in 2013 and will be followed by the Enjoy MPV a few months later. Its hatchback sibling the Sail U-VA was launched in India last November.
Since the car has been in the markets for quite a while, we already know that it will share many of its components with hatchback including engines as well the interiors. The compact sedan will be offered with the either a 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 84bhp and 113Nm of torque or a 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine which produces 76bhp and 205Nm of torque. We can also expect that most of the features and equipment found the Sail U-VA hatchback to be present in the sedan.
The Sail sedan is also expected to get a top-of-the-line LTZ variant and this is expected to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the Optra Magnum and the Aveo in the Chevrolet sedan hierarchy. We expect that Chevrolet will price the Sail in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the details from the launch.
