Chevrolet will launch the facelifted version of its small hatchback, the Spark on October 25. According to our friends at Indianautosblog, the American automaker had planned to launch the facelifted Spark on October 15 a day before the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. However, seeing a slew of launches, the company decided to postpone the launch by 10 days to ensure that the refreshed car did not go unnoticed.
The facelifted Spark will have new headlights, fog lamps with chrome inserts, dual-tone front and rear bumpers and a new chrome grille with refreshed graphics. The car will be available in six new colours: Caviar Black, Velvet Red, Sandrift Grey, Linen Beige, Summit White and Misty Lake.
The report says that while Chevrolet has refreshed the interiors to suit the times, it has carried on the same 1.0-litre petrol and 1.0-litre LPG engines that power the current model. The facelift for the Spark comes at a good time as Chevrolet has only been able to sell 254 models last month. It will compete with the newly launched Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon.
On a related note, Sumit Sawhney, the former head of marketing and sales for GM India, who resigned from the company in August, has joined Renault India with effect from October 18 as the executive director of marketing and sales.
