Chevrolet recently unveiled the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze packed with new features and now the company has demonstrated a first of its kind Active Phone Cooling system. This global feature will be seen in the new sedan and also carried over to the company's upcoming cars.
The new Chevrolet Active Phone Cooling system basically incorporates the use of an air vent in the phone charging area. This air vent is connected directly to the car's air conditioning and ventilation system and will work only when the HVAC system is turned on. The cool air from the vent will be directed to the smart phone charging area keeping the region cool eventually avoiding the overheating of the phone on charge.
A lot of heat is dissipated when the phone is charged, especially wireless charging of smart phones. This overheating of the phone can lead to suspended charging or shutting down the phone. This will not only be harmful for the battery life, but also slow down the phone's processing speed. To keep these undesirable factors at bay, the engineers at Chevrolet have developed this cooling system that will keep the charging smartphone at a cooler temperature.
The Chevrolet Active Phone Cooling system is indeed an innovative feature that will help people keep their phone at an optimum temperature when on a long drive. Especially when the phone is in sync with the car's infotainment system or when the Sat-Nav is on, the phone will be on kept on charge and this is when this system will be a lot helpful.
Chevrolet will not only equip the new Cruze with this system, but also feature it on board the upcoming Impala, Malibu and Volt.
