Chevrolet has previewed the Sail sedan on its official website and this means the launch of the car is just around the corner. The car is essentially a sedan version of the recently launched Sail U-VA and will be the American automakers first launch in 2013. This is expected to be followed by the Enjoy MPV within a few months.
We already know that the sedan will be sharing many of its components with the hatchback and this includes the engines as well the interiors. The Sail will be offered with the option of a 1.2-litre petrol engine which produces 84bhp and 113Nm of torque or a 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine which produces 76bhp and 205Nm of torque. We can also expect that most of the features found the Sail U-VA hatchback to be present in the sedan.
Since the sedan has been designed keeping the Chinese car buyer in mind, it scores big on rear leg room, something that is expected to go well with the Indian market also. The website also says that the car has been given a whole host of safety features like ABS, EBD and twin airbags.
The Sail is the second highest-selling car in its home market, China, so it is with confidence that GM will launch the Sail in India – it caters to a very similar audience that values good looks, great interior space and good fuel efficiency in a package that is great value
