Chevrolet may launch the Sail sedan on February 1. The American automaker has been testing the Chinese made (and designed) sedan extensively across the sub-continent in a bid to ensure that the car achieves a good level of success.
Essentially a ‘boot-on-hatch’ of the Sail U-VA which was brought into the market a few months ago, this will be the American automakers first launch of 2013. Currently, one of the top selling models in the Chinese car market, the Sail sedan will share many of its components with the U-VA hatchback including a range of petrol and diesel engines.
Chevrolet also recently updated its website with information on the car where it said that the Sail sedan will features ABS, EBD as well as twin airbags. It is also expected to score brownie points with Indian buyers on the large amount rear leg room that it has been given.
Motorbeam also reports that the Sail sedan will get a top-end LTZ variant and this expected to fill the gap that has been left by the discontinuation of the Aveo and the Optra Magnum. It is likely that Chevrolet is banking hard on the Sail sedan to boost their sales which have not good despite the launch of the Sail U-VA hatchback.
