Chevrolet may launch a compact version of its Enjoy MPV, according to report from Autocarindia. The compact Enjoy is expected to be a sub four-metre vehicle and combined with both its petrol and diesel engines that are below the capacity of 1.5-litres will get the tax benefits offered to vehicles of this combination.
The report suggests that while the 1.3-litre diesel engine with the reduced length will meet the lower tax criteria, the petrol engined compact Enjoy is likely to get the 1.2-litre mill from the Sail siblings. This mill produces 85PS and 113Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It is likely that this version will become a front-wheel drive vehicle in a bid to further cut costs. The reduction in length may also result in the compact Enjoy becoming a five-seater.
The move to produce a compact Enjoy, despite reducing its utility value, will make it at least Rs 40, 000 to Rs 60, 000 (depending on the variant) cheaper.
