The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu was caught testing near GM’s Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan, U.S. Since it was fully camouflaged, we can only guess that this iteration will carry some minor updates to the front and rear section. Meanwhile, sources suggest that the interiors of the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu will be on the receiving end of an updated list of new features.
The new Malibu might continue to use current generation’s series of engines. It is powered by a 160bhp 1.5-litre engine and a 250bhp 2.0-litre motor that’s paired to a six-speed auto, and a new nine-speed auto transmission respectively. However, rumours state that the new Malibu could also get the 1.6-litre diesel motor that powers the Cruze and Equinox. There’s also talk of the hybrid power-plant making it to the next Malibu line-up.
The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu is still some time away, and as this is just the second sighting of the prototype car, we can expect the new car to roll into showrooms late next year. Stay tuned to CarWale for more spy shots of the Chevrolet Malibu in the time to come.
