Chevrolet has launched the 2015 MY Captiva SUV for Rs 25.13 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The American automaker’s flagship SUV gets an upgraded feature list and minor cosmetic changes but otherwise remains the same mechanically.
In terms of external changes , Chevrolet has not modified the Captiva and it still retains it muscular stance thanks to the large proportions. The overall design of the interior remains the same as the outgoing model. New to the feature list is cruise control, third-row vents, electric parking brake, rain-sensing wipers, sunroof, dual zone AC, revised instrument cluster and the newest feature which is the addition of a cluster ionizer.
On the engine front, the Captiva will continue to be powered by the 2.2-litre VCDi four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 184bhp and 424Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual which sends power to the front wheels as well as a six-speed AT which sends power to all four- wheels via an AWD system.
The Chevrolet Captiva competes with the Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Ford Endeavour. Also included in the fray is the Honda CR-V but it is a minor player due to the absence of a diesel engine.
