Chevrolet has updated the vehicle line up on its official website to include the Enjoy MPV. The American automaker has also confirmed that it will launch the MPV for the Indian market next month and is currently holding a contest in the run up to the launch.
The Enjoy will be powered by two sets of mills; the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel mill that powers the U-VA and the Sail sedan. It produces 78PS and 205Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The petrol engine on the other hand is a new four-cylinder 1.4-litre mill producing 77.1PS and 187Nm of torque. The Enjoy will be rolled-out of Chevrolet’s plant in Ranjangaon.
The MPV was unveiled during the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo as a concept vehicle that was based on the Chinese made Wuling CN-100 van, a product of Sail (GM’s Chinese partner) and Wuling Motors. The Enjoy will compete with vehicles like the Mahindra Xylo and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 6.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.
Lowell Paddock, MD of GM India, also confirmed that Chevrolet will be launching another model in this financial year after the Enjoy MPV and we believe that this will be the facelifted Chevrolet Beat.
