Chevrolet has silently refreshed the Cruze sedan with some minor updates while increasing the prices throughout the variant lineup. The Cruze range now starts at Rs 13.70 lakh for the base LT version going up to Rs 16.19 lakh for the top-end Automatic LTZ variant. While it mechanically remains the same, it does get a few cosmetic changes. This is the first update for the Cruze since the facelift was launched back in October last year.
While the facelift had given the car quite a few comprehensive interior and exterior upgrades, the new Cruze only gets an updated Dual Port Front Grille, turn indicators on the OVRMs, chrome door handles and a new set of alloys. The Cruze is available only with a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 164bhp and 380Nm of torque. The Cruze is available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
General Motors is all set to introduce a comprehensive facelift for the Cruze in the Chinese market at the next month’s Beijing Motor Show till the 2015 Cruze is launched next year. During the unveiling of the Ecotec engine series last week, GM had revealed that two of those engines will find their way into the 2015 Cruze, which they say, has been ‘specifically tailored for China’. China, being a big market for D-Segment cars, has managed to grab the attention of the American manufacturer, while the Indian sales figures continue to remain bleak.
