The images of the upcoming 2015 variant of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible are doing rounds of the web. The new super car will debut at the New York Auto Show scheduled for next week.
The pictures of the convertible car show that the vehicle is equipped with carbon fiber aero package which includes the material finding its way onto the front spoiler, side skirts and the rear wing. The Z06 models will be fitted with Michelin tyres-P285/30ZR19 in the front and 335/25ZR20 at the rear. The Pilot Super Sport tyres will be for the Z06, while the Sport Cup 2 tyres will be included with the Z07 package. These tyres are mounted on lightweight, spin-cast aluminum alloy wheels; 19x10 inches in the front and 20x12 inches at the rear. The stopping capabilities of the car will be taken care of by the large Brembo brakes.
Customers will be pampered with luxury with the fully wrapped interior , covered by premium, soft-touch materials. According to the different trims various materials will be made available that include Napa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and micro-suede. The car boasts of a flat-bottom steering wheel with a carbon fiber center spoke. The automaker has made the Z06 available in five interior colours out of which blue and dark gray are unique to the car.
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible will be powered by a supercharged 6.2-litre LT4 V8 engine that churns out 625bhp of power and 861Nm of torque. This motor will be mated to a seven-speed manual transmission. The company will also offer an eight-speed automatic transmission as an option.
This latest version of the supercar from Chevrolet will premiere at the New York Motor Show. Prices should be revealed close to the debut and when it goes on sale, it will go up against the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
