General Motors launched the much anticipated Beat facelift at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The price ranges from Rs 4.06 lakh to Rs 6.1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Beat hatch was earlier launched in petrol version in 2010, and the following year observed the launch of its diesel-powered variant.
The facelift gives it a few minor cosmetic changes such as a new bumper, dual port chrome grille and roof spoiler. The interior is differentiated by a new center console having better storage solutions, and a change of colour. The car gets steering mounted audio controls for the first time. The Beat is a fully localised product made at GM India's Talegaon factory in Maharashtra. Powering the updated Beat would be the same 1.2 liter petrol and 1.0 liter diesel engines that power the current car. These motors have max power figures of 85bhp and 59bhp respectively.
