The Chevrolet Beat has already made its mark in the small car market. The petrol version was launched early this year. The diesel version of the car would be launched sometime early next year.
The earlier Beat has a four cylinder, 16valve, DOHC, 1199cc engine producing just a shade under 80bhp @ 6200rpm. The diesel version of the Beat would probably have a 1 liter engine. The launch is scheduled for next year, but whatever it may be, a diesel version of the beat is something that the consumers would look for considering the hike in the petrol prices.
