The Chevrolet Adra compact SUV may be called the Gem-B when it is launched in sometime in 2018. The Adra was shown at the 2014 Auto Expo and is based on the Gamma 2 platform. It gets Chevy’s funky design language and is likely to be offered with both petrol and diesel engines.
The Gamma 2 platform is expected to spawn a compact SUV (Gem-B), compact sedan and most probably a b-segment hatchback which will replace the Sail once it is launched. There is also expected to be a rival for the Hyundai Creta/Renault Duster/ Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Nissan Terrano and it will be the largest vehicle to come off this platform.
The development of this vehicle and platform is a part of a massive investment that GM has committed to the Indian market over the next few years.
