The Suzuki Celerio made its European debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show last year. UK-bound versions of the hatchback, which made its world debut in India, are built at Suzuki’s Rayang plant in Thailand.
Sales of the Celerio have reportedly been suspended in the UK after two test vehicles suffered brake failure while undergoing tests by Autocar and What Car? magazine. According to the report, the test vehicles suffered loss of braking power while undergoing 80mph (128kmph) braking tests at Millbrook Proving Ground. At present, the incident is being investigated by both Suzuki GB and Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan.
For now, sales of the Celerio have been suspended in the UK. Furthermore, all dealerships have been instructed not to initiate test drives and existing owners of the hatchback are being advised not to drive their cars.
