Today’s Times of India reported ZigWheels as No 2 automotive site of India. The news bit was based upon a recent study by ComScore, Inc. As per the study, ZigWheels has around 3 million page views every month. We had tried to contact ComScore to know who is at the first position. We will update this post as we manage to get the ComScore data. But for the time being, we can safely presume that we are by far India's number one automotive website. This claim is backed by various traffic monitoring and analyzing entities and web analytical tools. We are publishing this kind of report for the first time and hope that it interests you.
Google Analytics, the web traffic analysis tool, measures CarWale.com monthly traffic as 1.15 million unique visitors and 11 million page views every month. And everybody knows that Google reports numbers a little conservatively. Anyways, our old good friend Webalizer, the web server log-files analysis tool, gives even more encouraging numbers i.e. 1.3 million unique visitors and 14 million page views every month. If we analyze Google Analytics figures with ComScore’s page views figure for ZigWheels, we realize that CarWale.com is four times larger than the current number two auto website in India.
ZigWheels is not the only website in India that competes with CarWale.com. There are old players like IndiaCar.com, AutoIndia.com, IndiaAutomobile.com and DriveInside.com and there are recent joiners like InfiBeam.com, Carazoo.com, Gaadi.com, CarDekho.com and many more! We don’t have access to their web analytical tools or log files, so we will never know their actual unique visitors or page views. But we have done a comprehensive comparative research using publicly available and world renowned traffic monitoring entities. The graphs clearly say that CarWale.com is way way ahead of the competition.
