After a scintillating display of varied vintage beauties at Inorbit Malls, Malad and Vashi, over 40 cars participated in the annual drive to Lonavala. The CarWale Vintage Wheels 2011 drive was flagged off from Inorbit Mall, Vashi by Mr. Javed Ahmed, Police Commissioner, Navi Mumbai. The roads around Inorbit Mall were bustling with Navi Mumbaikars early on Sunday morning trying to catch a glimpse of these rarest cars that lined up before the flag off.
This exclusive Vintage Wheels showcased 1928 Ford Model A, 1932 Lancia, Ford Jeep, VW Beetles, Mini Minor, Packard Clipper, Sunbeam, Firebird, Mercedes-Benz SL, Fiat Balilla are to name a few which travelled the distance to Lonavala. Talking about this endeavour, Mr. Mohit Dubey, Co-Founder & CEO, CarWale, said, “Most vintage car exhibitions last just a few hours and attendees barely get a glimpse of the cars in such a short time. With Vintage Wheels, however, we have a unique format. The cars are exhibited for two whole weeks, so people get sufficient time to truly appreciate these timeless beauties, and the event culminates in a majestic drive through the city streets. We are now in our third instalment of Vintage Wheels and it has grown to a multi-location event. We look forward to growing it even further in the coming years.”
