Don’t blame me, please, for not having posted anything in here any sooner. It was quite an event for all of us and everyone was in high ‘spirits’, if you know what I mean! All the guests present were happy and feeling merry. The event started with the propitious diya-lighting ceremony by the guest of honour, Mr. Praveen Gandhi who was accompanied by Mr. Mohit Dubey, CEO, CarWale.com.
The stage was taken by the extremely talented and witty (a rare combination that!) Cyrus Sahukar, who played the role of a presenter to perfection. With his light-hearted and laugh inducing antics, Cyrus ensured that the packed house at Taj Lands End, Mumbai who came to attend CarWale Awards was kept entertained. Speaking about entertainment, we also had one of the leading and celebrated rock artistes Garry Lawyer who rocked the house with his electrifying performances and kept the guests involved, while the cocktails flowing ensured that everyone had a smile on their faces till the event lasted.

Most Preferred Car for a Large-Family – Toyota Innova
Most Preferred Car for a Self-Driven Executive – Honda City ZX
Most Preferred Car for a Chauffeur-Driven Executive – Mercedes Benz E Class
Most Preferred Car for Women – Hyundai Santro Xing
Aspirational Car of the Year – Hyundai i10
Most Preferred Car for Enthusiasts – Maruti Suzuki Swift
Most Preferred Car for Off-Roading Activities – Mahindra Scorpio
The Debut of the Year award was won comprehensivly by Hyundai i10.
We got in a great response from the consumers and we are thankful to all of you who took time out to vote in for your favourite cars, we could not have achieved such elevated results without your participation. Also, to make this event achieve such a great feat were our venerated partners like ICICI Bank, Radio One 94.3 FM, UTI Mutual Fund, Zee Business, Aloo Techie and TATA AutoComp GY Batteries Pvt Ltd, hence we take this opportunity to thank them for their undying support. To conclude, all I would like to say is that all the cars in their respective segments are equal, but the winners were more equal than others!
