We are glad to announce winners of CarWale Awards 2009. The 2nd edition of India's only consumer choice car awards has received 1,58,220 votes across seven categories. The voting for the awards was on during 1st Feb 2009 and 1st April 2009. Apart from these seven categories, there were three additional categories in which winners were chosen by CarWale editorial team. The awards voting process and results are audited by A.C. Nielsen. The winners are:

3. India's Favourite Car for Self-driven Executives 2009 - Honda City
4. India's Favourite Car for Chauffeur-driven Executives 2009 - Honda Accord
5. India's Favourite Car for Offroading Activities 2009 - Mahindra Scorpio
6. India's Favourite Car for Enthusiasts 2009 - Honda Civic
7. Aspirational Car of India 2009 - Audi R8
8. New Car of the Year 2009 (CarWale Editorial chosen) - Honda City
9. Safety Initiative of the Year 2009 (CarWale Editorial chosen) - Mumbai Traffic Police
10. Environment Initiative of the Year 2009 (CarWale Editorial chosen) - Mahindra (Micro-Hybrid technology)
