Carnation Auto, a top player in used car sales and support market, inaugurated its first franchisee in collaboration with Car Galaxy at Thane on August 9. Speaking at the launch, Jagdish Khattar, Chairman and MD of Carnations said the company hoped to expand to 200 outlets in the next two years both through the franchisee and company owned outlet route.
The multi-brand auto solutions provider has decided to venture down the less capital intensive franchisee road after having invested a considerable sum in building its base network.
Commenting on the used car market scenario in the country, of which 90 per cent is unorganized, he said that it would grow by 20 per cent annually in the next five years. At present around 30 lakh cars were being sold in this market every year and by 2015 this number was expected to increase to 76 lakh.
Looking to cash in on this expected phenomenon, Carnation hopes to cater to the needs of those customers who are looking for guarantee and top quality service when purchasing used vehicles. Carnation currently has 41 outlets across the county of which 24 are service centers and 17 are showrooms.
