- Expected to be launched next month
- Will replace the current E6 MPV
BYD has once again teased its replacement for the E6 MPV. Expected to be the M6, which is currently on sale in global markets, it is likely to be launched in India next month. This will make the entire BYD range up to date with the rest of the world.
The M6 will bring many of the updates that have been due on the E6 for a long time. This list includes three rows of seating, dual digital screens, connected car technology, and an increase in the number of storage spaces. The M6, at 530 km, also has a slightly bigger range than the E6.
It’s expected to continue as an SKD unit but with sufficient demand, BYD could also locally assemble the vehicle and bring its price down even further. BYD has a big challenge on its hands as it's directly taking on the Innova range across both the Crysta and the Hycross. Although the upgrades for the M6 give it a good advantage and the novelty of an EV is always on its side, the real deal will be to see how BYD can provide any kind of fight to Toyota’s sales and service network.
