- Successor to the E6 MPV
- First three-row vehicle from BYD for India
BYD will launch the eMAX7 MPV in India on October 8. This is a successor to the E6 MPV and will come with three rows of seating and an upgraded feature list. It is also expected to get a bigger range as compared to the E6 and is being pegged as BYD’s challenger to the Toyota Innova range.
On the outside, the eMAX7 continues with the MPV design of the E6 but with a new face, wheels and design for the tail lamps. Inside, the cabin has been trimmed out in beige over a black combination with features like powered front seats, dual digital screens, power tailgate and both six-seat and seven-seat options.
The outgoing e6 model was being offered with a 71.7kWh battery pack and a range of 500km. This will be replaced with a 71.8kWh unit, thus taking the range to 530km on a full charge. The power output too has shot up from 94bhp to 204bhp and 180Nm to 310Nm for the torque, of which the latter is expected to improve drivability.
With the Atto3 BYD had been targeting the Hyundai Tucson while the Seal is their aspiration product. The eMAX7 is expected to be the volume spinner and like the outgoing model will find private takers but also luxury fleet aggregators like five-star hotels and premium cab services. We expect prices to be in the region of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 33 lakh (Ex-showroom).
