The BYD eMax 7 has been launched in India. It is available in two variants – Premium and Superior – and they are priced at Rs. 26.9 lakh and Rs. 29.3 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both versions of the eMax 7 have six airbags, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, ABS with EBD, traction control programme, and hill hold assist. Both versions can be had in six-seat and seven-seat guises with a standard price difference of Rs. 60,000 across both variants.

The BYD eMax 7 measures 4.7 metres long with a wheelbase of 2.8 metres, putting it on par with the Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti Invicto, and the Toyota Innova Crysta. The Premium variant gets a 55.4kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 420km, while the Superior has a 71.8kWh battery offering a claimed range of 530km. The former’s electric motor produces 160bhp, while the latter produces 201bhp. The torque is common for both at 310Nm.
