Even though Bugatti has not made an official entry into the USA with the Chiron, a few have been spotted on US roads. But that’s about to change as the Chiron is finally set to make its debut at the 2016 Quail Motorsports gathering in California.
As per reports from Bugatti, close to 200 bookings have been taken for the Chiron, and 30 per cent of these bookings are from buyers located in the USA.
Bugatti launched the Chiron after the 10 year old legendary Veyron went out of production. Despite the Chiron using the same 8.0-litre W16 motor, it is now tuned to make 1500bhp with its four turbos, and hence beats the Veyron’s 1360bhp. Top speed is limited to 420kmph and is close to 5kmph faster than the outgoing Veyron’s speed output.
As we’ve already covered earlier, Bugatti has currently no plans for a Chiron convertible, and this does raise a few eyebrows as the car maker was able to push more convertible Veyrons at the end of its reign.
