- XUV300 BS-VI could be offered with petrol and diesel powertrains
- The model could be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo
The BS-VI emission compliant Mahindra XUV300 has been spied in India during a public road test. New spy images shared by our reader Divyansh Dhindsa reveal a single unit of the completely camouflaged XUV300 test-mule.
Powertrain options on the Mahindra XUV300 currently include a 1.2-litre petrol unit and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. The petrol mill is capable of producing 110bhp and 200Nm of torque while the diesel mill produces 115bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to a six-speed manual transmission as standard while an AMT unit is offered exclusively with the diesel engine.
The camouflaged test-mule of the Mahindra XUV300 retains the design as seen on the current model on sale. The interiors are likely to remain unchanged. The powertrains could be offered in a slightly lower state of tune owing to the new emission compliance norms. Upon launch, we can also expect a marginal price hike across the variant line-up. Rivals to the Mahindra XUV300 include the Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and the upcoming sub-compact SUV from Kia.
