- BS-VI compliant XUV300 likely to be launched by October 2019
- Updated petrol motor could be introduced first, followed by diesel motor
Mahindra and Mahindra has begun testing the BS-VI emission compliant version of the XUV300. A fully camouflaged test-mule of the updated model was spotted on public roads, hinting that the launch could take place in the coming months.
Launched in February this year, the Mahindra XUV300 is currently available with two powertrain options. These include a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the engines are available with a six speed manual transmission as standard. Also on offer is an AMT variant, available exclusively with the diesel variant.
Reports suggest that the petrol engine of the Mahindra XUV300 will be the first unit to be made BS-VI compliant, followed by the diesel unit. The former is likely to be launched in India in October this year. Owing to the upgradation of the engines, the prices of both variants are expected to increase once they are launched.
