-BS VI diesel engine
-No exterior changes
A test vehicle of a BS-VI compliant Mahindra Scorpio was spotted doing the rounds outside Pune. This is the first glimpse that we have got of the vehicle sans camouflage and once again this confirms that a BS-VI compliant Scorpio will be launched.
The BS-VI engine will be the turbocharged 2.2-litre unit found in the current car. It produces 120bhp/280Nm and mated to a five-speed manual. In terms of appearance, this Scorpio looks no different from the current model and we believe that there will be no major changes to the car once it is launched.
This is the same engine used in the XUV500, but in a higher state of tune. It will be offered in the XUV500 in the 150bhp state of tune. Mahindra has already announced a roadmap for its diesel engines with the onset of BS VI.
