- BS-VI BMW X3 is expected to be offered with the same 2.0-litre diesel engine
- The model could be launched in India by 1 April, 2020
BMW has begun testing the BS-VI compliant version of the X3 SUV on Indian roads. A test mule of the model was recently spotted on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. As seen in the spy images, the model is equipped with an emission testing device at the rear.
The BMW X3 BS-VI is not wrapped in camouflage and hence we can expect no changes to the exterior or interior of the model. The test-mule in question is the X3 20d xDrive variant. The model is expected to be introduced before 1 April, 2020.
Currently, the BMW X3 is offered with two engine options including a 2.0-litre petrol motor and a 2.0-litre diesel motor. The former is capable of producing 248bhp and 350Nm of torque while the latter produces 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both engines are offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Once launched, the BS-VI compliant BMW X3 will rival against the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, Land Rover Discovery and the Audi Q5.
