The resurrected German car maker, Borgward, has released a second teaser of its new concept car. The halo product of the now Chinese-owned carmaker will make its debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The second teaser comes right after the first glimpse teased earlier last month. The new teaser previews the rear wheel arches of the concept car in a design sketch. Judging by the two teasers, it is now confirmed that the new concept will be a sports car, rather than an SUV. Borgward’s current product line-up includes only SUVs, but this might change with the Frankfurt’s new concept car.
It is being speculated that Borgward will introduce the new concept as a modern interpretation of the Isabella. The Isabella coupe was sold between 1954 and 1961. It was one of the most successful models for the German marque. So, reviving that moniker only seems fitting now. The Isabella revival is still a speculation though. However, the new concept car would mark the introduction of a different body style for Borgward. It will serve as a halo product for the Chinese-owned German carmaker. An electric powertrain won’t come as a surprise
More details will surface next week when the Frankfurt Motor Show opens its gates. It will make its way to European markets eventually, but it will primarily be targeting the Chinese market. The car will be manufactured at the new European facility that is under development at the marque’s hometown in Bremen.
