- First major update for the sedan since its launch
- Booking amount set at Rs 11,000
- Can be paid at Nexa showroom or on the Nexa website
- Car gets new grille, alloys and tail lamps
- Expected to be offered with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine
Booking for the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will begin from August 10. The booking amount has been set at Rs 11,000 and this can be done at Nexa showrooms across the country or through the Nexa website.
This facelifted model has already been spotted undisguised and we know that the upgrade package includes a new grille, LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps and a new design for the alloy wheels. The interiors too will undergo an upgrade in the form of revised upholstery and a feature list.
However, the biggest change is expected to be a new 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine. This mill made its debut in the second generation Ertiga a few months ago and produces 104bhp/138Nm. It replaces the 1.4-litre unit found in the current car. There have been murmurings on the internet about a new 1.5-litre diesel engine being developed in house by Suzuki but for now the Ciaz will continue with the 1.3 diesel. Both engines get a five-speed manual as standard with the former also having the option of a four-speed AT.
The Ciaz is Maruti’s competitor for the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Nissan Sunny, Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento in the C-segment of the Indian car market.
