Porsche India has announced that bookings of the 2014 Cayenne Platinum Edition have opened. The price for this special edition, however, has not been revealed. The car is a base trim of the Cayenne loaded with some extra options that might set you back by quite a hefty sum.
The 2014 Platinum Edition models offers enhanced standard equipment, including the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, Power Steering Plus, Park Assist front and rear and comes with the Convenience Package and Bose Audio Package. The Convenience Package brings in a host of interesting features like a high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen navigation, BiXenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, Driver Memory Package seats, a moonroof, heated front seats and Auto Dimming Mirrors. The music system includes 14 loudspeakers, a Sirius XM radio and a six-disc changer.
The center and side air intake grills, the side window trim, the rear lip spoiler and the lower tailgate trim come accented in platinum metallic silver. The car comes dressed in the standard colours including monotone paint finishes in Black and White, while Meteor Grey Metallic, Basalt Black Metallic and Mahogany Metallic are available as additional extra cost colour options. Available exclusively for this Cayenne edition is the Carrara White Metallic paint finish. The Platinum Edition exterior is completed with 19-inch Cayenne Design II wheels with a full-coloured Porsche crest.
The 3.6-litre V6 engine with direct fuel injection in the Cayenne Platinum Edition delivers 300hp and 399.51Nm of torque and sprints from zero to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds.
The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition has a base MSRP price USD 63,300 (Rs 39.06 lakh exclusive of import duties and other taxes). The Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine with 240hp and reaches 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The Porsche Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition has a base MSRP price of USD 66,900. These are the prices for the US market, where the car will be available from January onwards. The Indian pricing is yet to be announced, but we expect it to be placed above Rs 80 lakh.
