BMW has been busy developing the all-new Z4 for quite some time. We have brought to you exclusive images of the new roadster being tested in the cold, at the Nurburgring and along with its Toyota counterpart, the all-new Supra. The G29 Z4 roadster was spotted in the wild for the first time with its top down.
BMW teased the impending Z4 a few days ago with a vague silhouette line that sported a sharp roll-over hoop. In the new spied images now, the rollover hoops are clearly visible. Although the rear is heavily camouflaged, the characteristic Z4 posterior is hard to miss. The tail lights seem to take the inspiration from the outgoing Z4, and yet look futuristic. The lip spoiler is complemented by dual exhaust tips.
Upfront the cladding reveals nothing new. However, there is a rudimentary canard fin on the front bumper that is sure to be missed out in the production body. The windscreen is proportionate, there are contours and stately shapes visible under the cladding. The blacked-out alloys on the prototype are similar to one seen on the hardcore M4 GTS.
BMW put a caption with the teaser that states “Starting 17 August, the road will never be the same”. This means the upcoming Z4 is nearing its global premiere. The 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is the expected stage where BMW might reveal its roadster. If not, the Frankfurt Motor Show is also a home turf for the Munich-based carmaker.
