BMW X7 (internal codename G07) might start with a price tag of €1,30,000 (Rs 87.63 lakh) and will be powered by a range of V6, V8 and V12 engines claims a source.
The new X7 will we produced at the Spartanburg plant, South Carolina which also makes other X range of SUVs. The report says that the X7 might set standards when it comes to luxury and beat the 7 Series to this claim.
Also, BMW might be planning an annual capacity of 45,000 units for the X7 on which the upcoming Rolls-Royce SUV will also be based. A concept vehicle will be presented at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show.
BMW plans to take on the popular Range Rover with the X7. Off-Road capability is not the strength of any of BMWs X range of SUVs and we don’t expect the X7 to be any different. It is also for the first time that an X range of SUV is getting a V12 motor.
It will be interesting to see the reactions of premium luxury SUV buyers worldwide. Expect it to make it to the markets by 2018 and we hope, an Indian launch too.
