BMW will launch the X6M and X5M for the Indian market this month. BMW enthusiasts will be enthralled with this launch as both the cars are built to offer a Porsche 911-rivaling performance despite being practical SUVs.
The X5M and X6M are both beefed-up versions of BMW’s largest SUVs. They feature signature M division design upgrades including M spec body kits, badging and forged 21-inch light alloy wheels. The fascia of both the SUVs boasts of large air intake and redesigned but traditional kidney-shaped grille. The sporty character is further accentuated with the side skirts, sporty rear spoiler and quad tail pipes. The interior is equipped with the M spec instrument cluster, steering wheel and special sports seats.
The BMW X6M and X5M employs a 4.4-litre V8 bi-turbo petrol engine that produces 567bhp of power and a maximum torque of 750Nm. This mill comes mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox and an M-specific all-wheel-drive system. Zero to 100 kmph acceleration comes in 4.2 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
The new performance cars from BMW compete with the Range Rover 5.0-litre V8 version, Mercedes-Benz GL 63AMG and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. They are available in the UK with prices starting from £90,170 (Rs 87.79 lakh) for the X5M and £93,070 (Rs 90.62 lakh) for the X6M. We expect them to be priced between Rs 1.50 crore to Rs 1.80 crore in our country. BMW enthusiasts have been waiting for these cars as the new TwinPower turbo V8 powerplant is the most powerful engine ever developed by BMW for its all-wheel-drive range.
