BMW is planning to prep up the third generation of their SUV, the X5 in the second half of 2015. The car will be equipped with ‘M Performance’ parts. The list of the performance parts that will be seen on the BMW X5 comprises changes to both, the exterior as well as the interior of the vehicle.
For starters, ‘M Performance’ will be inscribed on the side sill foils of the car. The traditional kidney grille will get a new black grid, while there will also be exterior mirror caps with a carbon look and a front splitter. Apart from this a diffuser insert for the rear apron, air ducting elements, chrome or carbon tailpipe trim elements and an M performance brake system with blue calipers have also been included in the new package. The vehicle will stand tall on the new 21-inch dual tone alloy wheels.
On the inside, a host of new accessories can be seen as well. A buyer can get the gear lever covered with carbon as optional. The sports steering wheel comes with a red central marking and the floor mats come with M Performance badging. High-grade steel accelerator and brake pedals can also be chosen differentiating it from the standard vehicle.
The xDrive35i model of the BMW X5 is powered by the TwinPower Turbo 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder engine which produces a power of 300bhp. With tweaks to the engine of the 2014 variant of the car, performance is expected to improve with a boost of at least 20bhp. BMW also claims to have optimised the accelerator pedal setup to give a better response.
The addition of the M Performance parts to the 2014 BMW X5 will make the revamped vehicle have an edge over than the standard vehicle and should make a good impression for a BMW lover.
