German luxury car manufacturer, BMW, has launched the fourth generation X5 in India in two diesel variants – Sport (Rs 72.90 lakhs) and the xLine (82.40 lakhs). Jaguar Land Rover has recently commenced production of the Velar in India at its Pune facility. The SUV is available in a single R Dynamic-S trim and is available with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Available at a starting price of Rs 72.62 lakhs, the SUV comes loaded with progressive design luxury features like 10-inch Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, activity key, Wi-Fi and pro services, 380W Meridian sound system, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control and more. The India-built Velar also comes fitted with All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) system.
Audi Q7, a popular name in the premium SUV segment, is available in petrol and diesel engine option with prices starting at Rs 73.8 lakhs. The Q7 gets all the creaturely comforts like multi-zone climate control, Audi MMI infotainment system with floating display, leather seats, full LED headlamps and tail lamps as well as a virtual cockpit for the instrument panel as standard. Additionally, the Q7 is also offered with a host of accessories ranging from a roof box all the way to a pair of screens for the rear passengers. The full-sized Land Rover, the Discovery is available at a starting price of Rs 76.93 lakhs. The SUV is available in 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. The new-generation Discovery sits on aluminium monocoque chassis and is lighter than its predecessor. The standard features in the SUV include the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system, a 14-speaker Meridian digital surround system and four 12V charging points amongst others. The central touchscreen can be controlled through a smartphone app which is part of the InControl Touch Pro Services. The main highlight here is the Intelligent Seat Fold technology, which allows passengers to reconfigure the second- and the third-row seats.
The full-sized SUV from Mercedes-Benz, the GLS is available with 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options with prices starting from Rs 85.68 lakhs. The GLS is one of the few seven-seaters sold in the country that can actually accommodate seven adults comfortably. It also has all the features one could expect from a luxury SUV of this size, right from an extra-large sunroof to 360 camera view to electrically folding tailgate and seats. As for safety, the GLS gets nine airbags and all the electronic assistance that a big car needs. The next-generation model has been spotted on test on numerous occasions, thereby indicating on its possible debut sometime soon.
