BMW had the all-new X5 SUV and the M6 Gran Coupe on display at the Auto Expo. The M6 Gran Coupe made its India Debut.
The BMW X5
BMW will make the X5 locally at its Chennai plant and the SUV will hit the markets by the third quarter of this year. The X5, will be available in India in two variants – the 50i and the 30d. The 50i is powered by the 4.4-litre petrol engine producing 408bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. The 30d is powered by the oil-burner 3.0-litre engine which churns out 245bhp of power and 540Nm of torque. In both, power is delivered via an eight-speed automatic transmission to all the wheels.
The M6 Gran Coupe
BMW’s stylish four-door “coupe” the M6 made its India debut, the car will come with a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 that spits out 560bhp mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The six-speed manual in all probability may not make it to India. Other tidbits include ceramic brakes; a competition package with 20-inch wheels.
This car will be bought via CBU to India.
