The next-generation BMW X4 M has been spied undergoing winter testing. Key features that hint at the full-fat M version of the coupe SUV include the aggressive front fascia with large air intakes, chunky side skirts and rear bumper area.
The car also gets large quad-tip exhaust pipes on the rump. Another distinguishing element are the massive cross-drilled brake discs behind the large rims – the latter likely around 21-inches.
Under the heavy camouflage the X4 M seems to be featuring lowered suspension, rear spoiler, and a powerful turbocharged engine. The motor in question is believed to be the new ‘S58’ 3-litre twin-turbo straight six, with a projected power output of around 455bhp.
Both the X4 M and its closely-related X3 M are believed to share this new engine, which should see the Bavarian SUV pair challenge the bi-turbo V8-powered Mercedes-AMG GLC63 twins in the performance stakes.
