BMW has launched the xDrive30d M Sport in the Indian market at Rs 59.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new variant of the crossover gets a host of cosmetic updates thanks to the M Sport package, along with a new 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine.
The X3 xDrive30d M Sport gets an M Aerodynamic package and new lightweight alloy wheels which lend an athletic look to the crossover. It also gets characteristic ‘M’ logos all around to set it apart from the standard variants. Inside, the xDrive30d M Sport gets sport seats for the driver, a leather M steering wheel and sporty anthracite headliners. The xDrive30d M Sport also gets a panorama glass roof which improves the crossover’s ambience.
Under the bonnet, the X3 xDrive30d gets a 3.0-litre in-line six diesel engine, which puts out 258bhp and 560Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels through the xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The X3 xDrive30d M Sport can hit 100kmph from a standstill in just 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 232kmph.

The xDrive30d M Sport is available with six paint schemes - alpine white, glacier silver, black sapphire, space grey, Melbourne red and carbon black. The X3 xDrive30d M Sport will be locally produced at BMW’s assembly plant in Chennai. It competes with other mid-sized SUVs like the Audi Q5, Volvo XC60 and the Land Rover Freelander 2.
