The BMW X2 has been one of the most awaited models yet to be rolled out from the German automaker. The upcoming BMW X2 will finally be premiered at the 2016 Paris Motor Show that will be held in September. However, we anticipate that its global launch will happen early in 2017.
The upcoming BMW X2 is stated to be based on the UKL platform, thereby appearing to be the coupe-style version of the second-generation X1. The upcoming car might be offered with a three and four cylinder engine option, which will come mated to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. Though front-wheel drive will be offered as standard, the top-spec trim will get the xDrive all-wheel drive system option. Sources have also hinted at the possibility of an M Performance model being offered which will be based on the X2. The M Performance model might get a B48 unit that will churn out high performance figures.
As for the interior, the BMW X2 will offer premium upholstery and customization option. On the safety aspect, it will be loaded with all modern safety equipment. More details about the vehicle will be known post its official debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. As for the the pricing aspect, we believe that the vehicle will be priced closer to the X3 than the X1 model.
