A long wheelbase version of the BMW X1 has been spied testing. Dubbed the Grand by our spy photographers, this car, at first glance looks like an early second generation X1 prototype. However, closer inspection reveals that vehicle is longer and could possibly contain three rows.
In terms of external appearance, this X1 looks no different from the car that was unveiled in June. However, it appears to have a lower stance and smaller wheels. We can expect the same story on the inside where it will have all the elements from the standard X1 but possibly vents for the third and foldable seat options for row three.
The second-generation X1 was unveiled in June and has now moved to the front-wheel drive UKL1 platform that also underpins the new generation of Minis as well as the Active Tourer range of vehicles. The photos also reveal that there will be at least one hybrid model in the range.
