We have had many exterior spy pictures of the upcoming second-gen BMW X1, now take a look at its interior. These are the first comprehensive interior spy pictures of the upcoming crossover from BMW.
The interior looks quite similar to the 2 Series Active Tourer with a same style instrument panel and upper dashboard design. The touchscreen finds its place on top of the AC vents and the climate control unit is placed under the audio system. The instrument cluster and the overall layout of the cabin in typical BMW fashion looks quite similar to its siblings.
Apart from the overall changes, the X1 will get a new three-pot 1.5-litre TwinPower mill and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine. There will be a choice of a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The new X1 is based on the new UKL1 architecture which also underpins the 2 Series Active Tourer and the Mini hatchbacks.
The new X1 is expected by late 2015 or early 2016 and will be available in India within six months from its global launch. The car may not be available with a manual gearbox here and will get only the eight-speed auto box.
