BMW has announced an elite limited edition of the M5 and will be called Nighthawk edition; a name obviously derived from its paint job. The super-special edition will be limited to just 10 examples and is aimed at giving the performance sedan a more driver focused experience.
The black cladding given to the Nighthawk edition is highlighted by the dark chrome kidney grille and a set of matte black 20-inch alloy wheels. The quad exhaust pipes, the side vents and the door levers stick to the new uniform and gets dark chrome paint coats. The interior gets dark, two-tone Merino leather upholstery along with carbon fibre trims and will bare a uniquely numbered badge.
Power will be derived from the already in-use 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo that is capable of churning out 575PS and 680Nm of torque and will be mated to a 7-speed M-DCT transmission. But, in an effort to enhance the performance, the Nighthawk will come packed with a competition package that includes race-spec carbon-ceramic brakes, clutch assembly and suspension system. The car will also be equipped with an M Dynamic drive mode and a rumbling sports exhaust system as standard. The car has been priced at a rather hefty 181,800 USD (Rs 1.08 Crore) and is exclusively manufactured for the Japanese market.
