The next generation BMW X3 will be revealed on 26 June. This India-bound car was launched in 2003 will enter its third generation. The official reveal will take place at the Bavaria-based automaker’s plant in South Carolina, USA.
Our regular readers would have seen our many spy stories on the next generation X3 testing around various parts of Europe. The images in the stories reveal that the new car will sport an evolutionary design and retain the all-too-familiar BMW traits like the kidney grille, tail lamps and of course the silhouette. However, what is expected to be majorly new is that the X3 (and probably the X4 too) will move to the new platform that is expected to underpin the rest of their SUV range including their new flagship, the X7.
A range of diesel and petrol engines are likely to made as standard offerings but we can also expect BMW to reveal a full hybrid and electric plan for the SUV at the unveiling. This car is India-bound and will come here directly through the CKD route.
