The new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is going to be launched in India tomorrow. Though the facelift is based on the same platform, it gets a few cosmetic and technological updates to keep it in on par with new Mercedes-Benz CLS and the Audi A7.
The front of the new 6 Series features redesigned LED headlamps and foglights which are similar to the ones in the M6 Gran Coupe. The bumper has also been redesigned to make space for the full-width air-vent, while the kidney grille now sports nine horizontal slats instead of 10. The rear of the new 6 Series now comes with more chrome on the boot and bigger exhaust pipes, while the side profile flaunts redesigned mirrors and new alloy wheels.
The 6 Series Gran Coupe is expected to be offered in a single 640d trim, which comes with a 3.0-litre flat-six engine. This same engine is also used in the 530d sedan, and delivers 313bhp and 630Nm of torque to the rear wheels, through an eight-speed ZF gearbox.
The 6 Series Gran Coupe will be marginally more expensive than the current car, which means we can expect it to be priced around the Rs 1.2 crore mark. Stay tuned to CarWale as we bring you all the details from tomorrow’s launch event.
