BMW will launch the 2013 X1 for the Indian market at an event in New Delhi tomorrow. The 2013 X1 was first unveiled at 2012 New York Auto Show and was subsequently launched for the European markets. The car has got mechanical changes as well as cosmetic changes both inside and outside.
The facelifted X1 gets revised headlamps, OVRMs, a new bumper as well as a new front grille which made its debut on the new 3-Series. Changes to the inside include new colour tones, chrome treatment for various bits across the cabin and revised upholstery options.
Under the hood, the 2013 X1 will continue to be powered by the 1.8-litre petrol which produces 150bhp, 200Nm of torque and the 2.0-litre turbo diesel mill which produces 177bhp and 350Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the wheels via the new ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. This combined with the start/stop system is expected to improve fuel efficiency significantly. It is likely that BMW may launch a four-wheel drive version of the X1 also.
We expect the 2013 X1 to be priced in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 31 lakh. Stay tuned to CarWale for all the details from the launch.
