The upcoming BMW X2 crossover will make an official debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October. It will arrive in concept form before an official launch sometime in early 2017. This will be the third coupe SUV body style vehicle in BMWs official lineup.
The X2 shares the same UKL1 platform and underpinnings as the X1. It will be offered with a range of four cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Transmission options are expected to include manuals as well as a nine-speed AT that has become the norm nowadays. Primary drive will be to the front wheel drive while AWD (a.k.a xDrive) will be offered on specific variants.
It will get a coupe SUV design as is the case with the X4 and the much larger X6 to offer an alternate body style which has been growing in popularity over the last few years.
While this is a concept for now, it will come to India and will be locally assembled as it will rival the likes of the Range Rover Evoque as the well as the soon-to-be launched Audi Q2.
