BMW launched their first 7 series back in 1977, and the car evolved over the last four decades to become one of the benchmarks in luxury cars. To celebrate 40 years of the 7 Series, BMW will build 200 cars, the first of which will break cover at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2017.
The Edition 40 Jahre (40 years in German) will be available in two exterior colour shades, Frozen Silver and Petrol Mica (blue) and can be ordered with all combinations from six to 12 cylinder engines. Apart from the special colours, the anniversary edition 7 series will get the M Aero package, 20-inch V-spoke alloys and a special edition signet on the B-pillars and door sills.
The interior will be individually customised with the customers being offered a bouquet of choices of leather upholstery, trim strips finishes, roof liner etc. it will get all-four comfort seats with seat adjustment for the rear seats and massaging seats with hot and cool ventilation. Being a luxo-barge, the list of creature comforts will certainly be comprehensive, especially for the anniversary edition badge that will adorn the dashboard on the front passenger side.
Well, there is a very tough chance that the Edition 40 Jahre 7 Series will be offered in India, but being a budding market for the German car makers, a couple of cars might be intended for the subcontinent too.
