BMW teases all new 3-Series F30 in India, launch expected by end of July
    BMW 3-Series F30 teaser

The new 2012 BMW 3-Series was launched in Europe last year, while we have been waiting for the arrival of this model in India since the start of the year. The all new sixth generation 3-Series was caught testing in India few times, while there was no official word from BMW about the launch.  Now however, BMW is using the social media to create buzz about the new car and there are rumours that the new 3-Series named, F30, will be rolled-out by the end of this month.

BMW’s Facebook page now shows pictures of various generations of the 3-Series, with a contest based on the same cars and a promise to fly the winner for the launch. The new F30 takes design cues from the bigger 5-Series and the 7-Series with more angular headlights with LEDs placed like eyelids above the corona rings. The car is also a bit bigger than the predecessor but the weight has been reduced by about 40kgs. The 3-Series looks more aggressive with the wider stance and has more headroom and legroom, more specifically for the rear seats.

Multiple engine options in both petrol and diesel are offered in Europe; but we are not sure if all of them will be offered here. The 320i and 328i petrol producing 181bhp and 241bhp respectively are expected to be made available in India, alongside more sensible diesel 320d. The 2.0-litre 320d variant has the power rating of 181bhp and 380Nm and will be priced very competitively against the Mercedes C-Class 250CDI and the new Audi A4 TDI. The 3-Series will now be available with eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, currently available with the 5-Series.

Stay tuned, as we bring you more updates of the 3-Series including prices, variants, specs, features and all other details.
